The Leaderboard Has a Ceiling… and a Floor

GPT-5.5 leads the Summer 2026 dataset at a 68% security pass rate. Six of eleven models sit between 50–53%. The best model available still fails on nearly 1 in 3 security tasks. The worst fails on 1 in 2. 

Java: The Most Improved Language is Still the Worst One

Java has shown the clearest improvement trend of any language. It’s also last by a wide margin, with a mean security pass rate of only 30%.

Coding Models Are Not Secure Models

Models purpose-built for code average a 51% security pass rate. General-purpose models average 52%. Being trained to write code faster does not mean writing it safer.
