Veracode Facilitates Discussion on Securing the Application Economy During Black Hat USA 2014
BURLINGTON, Mass. – July 29, 2014 – Veracode, the application security company, today announced that Veracode will facilitate discussions around securing the application economy during Black Hat USA in Las Vegas. The conversations come at a time when Black Hat staff have stated that the 2014 conference will have a strong focus on application security.
In a recent blog post, Black Hat staff proclaimed that “If Black Hat had a middle name … it could well be Application Security”. The strong focus on application security during the 2014 Black Hat USA conference is a reflection of the fact that applications are now the driver of economic growth, and all enterprises are becoming digital businesses. A recent study by IDC found that the average enterprise produces 2,500 new applications a year. With this application economy revolution comes the need for an increased focus on application security.
Veracode’s activities at the conference include:
- Facilitated discussion with Co-Founder and CTO, Chris Wysopal during the Executive Summit where executives from Global 2000 corporations and Federal agencies are invited to attend a full day of high-level discussions about topics unique to Black Hat. Chris will lead a discussion about the advantages of integrating manual and automated testing in the software development lifecycle. The discussion will take place on August 5th from 11:15 to 11:45 PST.
- A showcase of the company’s cloud-based application security service at Booth #110, August 6th from 10:00AM – 7:00PM PST, and on August 7th from 10:00AM – 5:00PM PST. The booth will be located in the Business Hall at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Open office hours on August 6th and 7th, with Vice President of Research, Chris Eng and Co-Founder and CTO, Chris Wysopal. Attendees can meet with Wysopal and Eng to discuss the current application security climate and challenges.
