Recently retired as Red Hat's CFO, Charlie served in that role since 2004, building a world-class organization, managing the company's financial strategy and operations through rapid growth and expansion. Under his leadership, Red Hat delivered 44 straight quarters of revenue growth, taking Red Hat from $196 million in fiscal 2005 to almost $2 billion in fiscal 2015.
Peters has more than 30 years of experience in financial leadership, including 20 years in publicly traded companies. He formerly held the position of chief financial officer with multinational Burlington Industries.
From 1991 to 1995, Peters was senior vice president, Finance, at Boston Edison Company, a NYSE-listed $1.5 billion electric power company serving the Boston area. Before that, for 6 years he served as chief financial officer at GenRad, Inc., a NYSE-listed multinational manufacturer of scientific test equipment. Peters began his career with Price Waterhouse in 1973, serving in Boston and London in the audit division, and is also a certified public accountant.
