Veracode recently partnered with ESG to conduct a survey of 400 IT, cybersecurity and developer professionals regarding their take on the benefits of AppSec for contemporary software development and deployment.

The survey results revealed some positive trends, including the fact that many developers are focusing on security for security’s sake, rather than solely to meet compliance requirements. In addition, the shift toward DevOps appears to be an impetus for developers to take security more seriously. On the other hand, developers still seem to be prioritizing time to market over security in many cases.

In episode 7 of Veracode’s AppSec in Review podcast, Evan Schuman and Brian Fitzgerald discuss the survey results and examine both the positive and troubling findings regarding development’s view of application security.
