After a long winter, we’re celebrating the kick-off of spring by announcing a host of industry accolades for helping our customers address the most pressing cybersecurity threats. If you haven’t heard, CA Veracode has been selected as a finalist across six awards.
This is an exciting list of accolades, particularly as an indication that application security is gaining prominence as a significant means to reduce the risk of being breached. And why wouldn’t it? According to the Verizon DBIR, web applications have become the number one target for cyberattackers, with application-layer vulnerabilities exploited as a point of entry in many recent high profile security breaches.
Without further ado, here’s a rundown of the awards:
SC Awards 2015 “Best Security Company”. The SC Awards, now in its 18th year, are the information security industry’s most prominent recognition. Winners in the Excellence category are decided by an expert panel of judges, hand-picked by SC Magazine’s editorial team for their breadth of knowledge and experience in the information security industry. The awards honor both the cybersecurity professionals working in the trenches, and the products and services that help protect today’s corporate world from a myriad of ever-changing threats. Past finalists have included industry leaders and innovators such as Mandiant, McAfee, NetWitness and RSA.
2015 Info Security Global Excellence Awards. InfoSecurity Products honored CA Veracode as a finalist across four award categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year (Security). We were also nominated for Most Innovative Security Product (Software) for software composition analysis, which identifies known vulnerabilities across reusable third-party and open source components. The global awards recognize innovative companies and technologies that lead the industry in helping improve cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity 500. CA Veracode has been named by Cybersecurity Ventures as one of the top 10 hottest and most innovative cybersecurity companies to watch in 2015. The Cybersecurity 500 listing ranks companies based on feedback from CISOs and security practitioners as well as industry buzz.
In addition, CA Veracode’s co-founder, CTO and CISO, Chris Wysopal was recently recognized by SC Magazine as, “one of the most respected thought leaders in information security,” and has also been named a finalist for Most Innovative Person of the Year by InfoSecurity Products. Chris kick-started his career by joining L0pht Heavy Industries, the hacker think tank that testified before a Senate committee in 1998 stating that they could shut down the internet in 30 minutes. He played an integral part in creating binary static analysis technology, which allowed for applications to be assessed for vulnerabilities without needing access to proprietary source code. Chris is a regular speaker at industry events, such as the RSA Conference and Black Hat and is a member of the Black Hat Conference Review Board.
Our mission is to secure the world's software -- and these nominations are a recognition of our continuing innovation and dedication to solving this critical problem for enterprises. We are honored and humbled to be acknowledged by three distinct and respected organizations.
