N_America_WinnerJust a few months after being listed as #20 on Forbes’ “America’s Most Promising Companies”, Red Herring has named Veracode a winner in the Red Herring Top 100 North America list for 2013. The Red Herring Top 100 award recognizes the leading private companies from Americas, celebrating these startups’ innovations and technologies across their respective industries.

This year’s awards were hotly contested with over 3,000 companies submitting applications. The Red Herring editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation and intellectual property, management quality, business model, customer footprint, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.

Veracode was one of eight companies from Massachusetts and one of seven security companies to make this year’s list. With the majority of companies on the list coming from California (62) this shows that Veracode not only holds a leadership position in the security industry, but is also a technology leader in the Northeast as well.

Jessica is part of the content team at Veracode. In this role she strives to create and promote content that will engage, educate and inspire security professionals around the topic of application security. Jessica’s involvement with the security industry goes back more than a decade at companies like Astaro, and Sophos where she held roles in corporate communication and marketing.
