New Gartner research has positioned Veracode in the Visionaries quadrant for Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) solutions. Gartner’s DAST Magic Quadrant report was published on December 28, 2011 and is now available to all Gartner research subscribers.
An an independent provider of IT and research advice, Gartner’s research analyzes the evolution of the dynamic application security testing market and evaluates vendors according to their business and technology vision, as well as their ability to execute against that vision in their products and services.
As readers may be aware, Veracode is in the process of transitioning our customers to the new version of our dynamic analysis engine that was designed and developed by our own research and development teams. We consider our positioning in the Visionaries quadrant a confirmation of our innovative approach and a confirmation of key decisions we have made on our product and GTM strategy, including:
- Delivering both SAST and DAST through a single cloud platform is the right solution for customers as it avoids fragmentation of vendors and vulnerability information
- Leveraging Selenium that has a proven track record in traditional QA to improve the coverage problems most other DAST products suffer from was the right design decision
- Combining our new dynamic analysis engine with elastic cloud computing to deliver a service such as DynamicMP that significantly shrinks the time it takes to discover highly critical vulnerabilities is an extremely valuable service for customers
Veracode plans to continue aggressive development and rollout of our DAST technology in 2012 with a view to becoming the market leader in this space as we are in SAST.
