Veracode Board of DirectorsMaria Cirino Maria Cirino has over 20 years of technology leadership experience, including executive roles in worldwide sales, marketing and business development. Most recently she co-founded .406 Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on bringing value added capital to early stage technology companies. Prior to founding .406 Ventures, as the senior vice president of VeriSign’s Security Services, Ms. Cirino led the integration and day to day operations of the managed security services business for VeriSign after Guardent, a company she co-founded in 2000, was acquired by VeriSign in 2005. Previously, she was chief executive officer, chairman and co-founder of Guardent, Inc., a market leading Managed Security Services (MSS) provider. Prior to co-founding Guardent, Ms. Cirino was a senior executive at Shiva Corporation (now Intel Corporation) and i-Cube, Inc. (now Razorfish, Inc.), and served in various management capacities at Lotus Development Corporation. Throughout her career, she contributed to companies’ rapid growth and success by building and leading high performing sales and marketing teams, establishing key distribution channels and strategic partnerships. Her leadership experience extends to successful mergers, acquisitions and IPOs, having played a principal role in building i-Cube and Shiva into successful, publicly held enterprises. Additionally, Ms. Cirino has received numerous industry awards and recognition. The Massachusetts Telecommunications Council (MTC) named her the 2004 "CEO of the Year" for her leadership role at Guardent. Other honors include: being named one of the top 100 most influential women in Boston by Boston Magazine; honored by Information Security Magazine as one of the top 25 women in Information Security; selected by the Boston Business Journal as one of the area’s top "40 under 40" technology executives and inducted by Women’s Business Magazine into the "Women’s Business Hall of Fame." In 2002, Ernst & Young selected her as its "Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) for Business Services," and in 2001 Upside Magazine placed her on its "Women to Watch in Technology List." Mass High Tech presented her with the Mass High Tech "All Star Award," and The Commonwealth Institute and Babson College named Guardent as one of the "Top 100 Woman-Led Businesses in Massachusetts in 2002 and 2003." Ms. Cirino serves as a director for several venture backed privately held companies including Bit9, NameMedia, Veracode and Memento. She also serves on the board of governors for the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New England and is a Trustee of Mount Holyoke College. Ms. Cirino holds an AB degree in English literature from Mount Holyoke College. |
