Vice President of Sales

Eric Poley, vice president of sales, is responsible for executing Veracode’s enterprise sales strategy.

Mr. Poley joined Veracode after more than four years at salesforce.com, where he instituted the firm’s first sales offensive targeted at clients with more than $1 billion in annual sales. For the last two years of his tenure, Poley served as the regional vice president for Northeast Sales where his efforts resulted in many marquee enterprises choosing salesforce.com solutions in the financial services, technology, business services and media marketplaces. His performance resulted in a number one ranking among all sales managers, worldwide, in 2005.

Mr. Poley joined salesforce.com in June 2002 as the company’s first outside sales executive and was responsible for replicating the firm’s small-business sales success in the large enterprise market. He is credited with capturing the first 1,000-user client relationship for the firm, establishing key multi-national enterprise reference accounts and was subsequently recognized as the number one ranked salesperson, worldwide, in 2003.

Before joining salesforce.com, Mr. Poley served as director of strategic accounts at Bowstreet Software. He developed and executed the company’s sales force strategy and positioned the start-up’s market introduction. His efforts generated enterprise-wide wins with clients such as Cisco Systems, Novell and Sabre. Mr. Poley was recognized as Sales Director of the Year in both 2000 and 2001.

Prior to Bowstreet, Poley served in a variety of management and sales roles at Elcom International. As executive assistant to the Chairman & CEO, he helped lead the firm’s mergers and acquisitions activity, contributed significantly to the preparation of the firm’s Initial Public Offering, directed U.S. sales operations and developed the firm’s first value-based sales approach that aided the Elcom’s growth from $28 million in annual sales to over $800 million in annual sales within a 36-month timeframe.

Mr. Poley holds an MBA, with a focus in entrepreneurship, from Babson’s Olin Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
